Aubor's professional optical design team
Aubor's optical design team is a small but elite group of 6 people, all of whom graduated from top optics or physics majors at home and abroad:
2 PhD backbones, specialising in optical system modelling and algorithm optimisation, and responsible for cutting-edge simulations and free-form surface design;
3 senior engineers, proficient in Zemax, Code V, LightTools, able to quickly come up with optimal solutions in complex optical paths and space-constrained scenarios;
One optical test engineer is online 24/7 to ensure the consistency between design and mass production, and uses self-developed software and high-precision testing equipment as the final gatekeeper.
We advocate ‘Agile Iteration + Cross-departmental Collaboration.
1
Freeform Surface Design
Software such as Zemax, CODE V, LightTools, TracePro for the design of aspherical and free-form systems for aberration minimisation and system miniaturisation.
2
Multi-physics field simulation
“We conduct multi-physics field simulations—integrating thermal, optical, and mechanical behaviors—to guide precise material selection. This ensures optimal performance of the entire optical system from design to final application.”
3
LightTools / TracePro/CODE V
By leveraging CODE V and TracePro, we simulate complex optical systems with high precision—optimizing aberrations, luminance uniformity, and system tolerance to ensure our lenses perform reliably in medical imaging, machine vision, and sensor applications.
4
Aubor’s optical team has deep expertise in optical-grade plastics such as Cop, PMMA, and PC.
We precisely match materials based on spectral range, refractive index, transmittance, and thermal behavior—enabling tailored lens development from UV to IR applications.

Advanced Optical Coating at Aubor
We apply ultra-thin AR and IR coatings using PVD and IAD processes, enhancing light transmission, durability, and surface cleanliness across all lens types.

Mould Design
Aubor provides full-process mold design, fabrication, and assembly. With CNC machining and diamond-tool polishing, we achieve nanometer-level surface roughness, ensuring high optical precision and repeatability in plastic lens molding.

Diamond Turning Lathe
Aubor’s diamond turning lathe enables ultra-precision machining of aspheric and freeform mold surfaces with nanometer-level roughness, ensuring exceptional lens accuracy and surface quality—critical for advanced imaging and sensing applications.

Optical Surface Profiling
With interferometers and profilometers, we perform full-surface inspections for form error and surface roughness. Our nanometer-level accuracy ensures consistent optical quality across prototype and mass production stages.
